The Huffington Post reported that until last week, Facebook had enabled ads to reach a category called ‘Jew Haters’.

Until this week…the world’s largest social network enabled advertisers to direct their pitches to the news feeds of almost 2,300 people who expressed interest in the topics of “Jew hater,” “How to burn jews,” or, “History of ‘why jews ruin the world.’”

After Facebook was notified that its ads could reach a category of interest called ‘Jew Haters’ – that category was eventually removed. However, the last sentence of the article says:

We looked for analogous advertising categories for other religions, such as “Muslim haters.” Facebook didn’t have them.

In a similar vein, two years we ago, Shurat HaDin decided to conduct a small test. We created two Facebook pages. The first was one was against Jews, and the second page was against Palestinians. The following day we began putting identical posts and videos on each page, the only difference was that one was posts against Jews and one was posts against Palestinians.  Click on the video to see what happened.
