The Shurat HaDin Arnold Silverman internship program (Summer) provides outstanding law students and recent law school graduates an intensive and hands-on learning experience at the law center's offices in Tel Aviv. The Shurat HaDin Summer Internship Program has been generously endowed by Anna and Michele Silverman in the memory of their beloved husband and father, Arnold Silverman z"l, and carries his name.

The Program
The Arnold Silverman Internship Program provides law students a unique opportunity to engage in assisting in research, drafting and litigation against the terrorist organizations, their leaders and the states that sponsor them while also providing a rare to explore the Jewish state and the Middle East conflict from the frontlines. Interns will work on actual cases in a dynamic environment with staff lawyers and jurists from around the globe and can receive law school credit (where available). In addition, the internship provides students and young attorneys with a hands-on opportunity to attend court sessions, observe terrorism trials in the IDF military courts, meet with Israeli judges and lawyers, tour the state's borders, interact with clients and put their research and writing skills to good use delving into cutting-edge legal issues.

Research and Drafting
Interns will be assigned research and writing projects that go to the core of the Jewish State's survival. Issues such as anti-boycott initiatives, security regulations, the burden of evidence in terrorist trials, targeted killing policies, free speech issues, sovereign immunity, the legality of anti-terror ordinances, challenging government actions in court and extracting legislative history on a wide-variety of laws will be researched. Interns will carry out research projects on behalf of ongoing and planned litigation, as well as draft legal memorandium and summaries of their work.

Field Trips
As part of the The Arnold Silverman Internship Program, interns will also take aprt in weekly field trips across Israel. The field trips generally include courts and locals not generally accessible to the public, such as the IDF security courts, naval and military bases, ongoing lectures on relevant legal issues, intelligence agents, meetings with MKs and other senior officials.

Internship Candidates
The Arnold Silverman Internship Program requires a proactive commitment on the law student's part to utilize your law school-acquired skills and apply them in the context of the serious litigation and security struggle being conducted in Israel and around the world. Interns bear their own costs of travel and lodging.

Dates
The program will be conducted during the summer break in two formats:
1. A four weeks program
2. An eight weeks program.
