Shurat HaDin applauds resumption of targeted killings
Tel Aviv, Nov. 14, 2012: “Shurat HaDin applauds the IDF’s resumption of targeted killings of terrorist leaders” – this according to Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, director of Shurat HaDin – Israel Law Center. In the past hour, the IDF targeted Ahmed Jabri, the head of Hamas’ military wing, in the Gaza Strip. The terrorist leader was directly responsible for executing terror attacks against the State of Israel in the past number of years, among them the kidnapping of the soldier Gilad Shalit and the launching of countless missiles at the southern tip of the country.
Darshan-Leitner: “Ahmed Jabari, who has been a moving force behind the Gaza rocket attacks, should have been killed long ago. We call on the security services and army to retaliate with targeted killings for each and every rocket launched into Israeli civilian areas. The terrorists in Gaza must understand that the Israeli democracy will locate them and eradicate them regardless of where they hide.”
On the use of targeted killings, the director of Shurat HaDin added: “It is a legal, justified and moral act lawful states can take against lawless organizations who are cowardly hiding among the civilian population. Terrorists that deprive sleep from the eyes of children in southern Israel should also be deprived of sleep. They must know that they are a target at every coming moment.”
