High court rejects Shurat HaDin's Emergency Petition to Block Release of Flotilla Detainees |

June 3, 2010: Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center brought an emergency petition in Israel's High Court of Justice, demanding that the State's Attorney be barred from releasing the foreign nationals who had been arrested aboard the Turkish ship, Mavi Marmara, instead of bringing them to trial. Information had surfaced in Israel that the militants on the boat had ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Last Bank in Gaza Closes Out of Fear of Victim's Civil Suits |

May 27, 2010: The fear of being sued by terror victims has forced the last bank operating in the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip to close all three of its remaining branches there. The Palestinian owned Arab Bank had been, until now, the sole channel for funds transferred to Gaza from the outside world. Due to the earlier closings of other financial institutions that provided services to Gaza, the Arab Bank had been under heavy pressure from Hamas to turn over to it tax money the Bank collected on behalf of the Palestinian Authority. Hamas gunmen have entered the Bank on several occasions and robbed funds it claims were owed to its members. |

Terror Victims Force Iran to Defend Itself in US Courts or Lose Antiquities |

May 9, 2010: American terror victims have finally succeeded into compelling the Iranian government to litigate in legal proceedings involving Tehran's funding of Palestinian terror.
In 2003, American victims of a 1997 triple suicide bombing in the
center of Jerusalem's downtown area, brought a lawsuit against the
Islamic Republic of Iran in the Washington, DC federal court .

Shurat HaDin Files High Court Petition: Do Not Allow Palestinian Traffic on 443 Road |

May 10, 2010: The Tel-Aviv based civil rights organization, Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center, has filed a petition in the High Court of Justice to compel the Israeli Defense Minister not to allow Palestinian traffic back on Route 443. More than 1,000 Israeli commuters who utilize the road, have joined the law suit as petitioners. It is the largest lawsuit filed in the history of the High Court. |

Victims of Hezbollah Rockets File Unprecedented Case Against the Central Bank of Iran |

February 18, 2010: Eighty five American, Israeli and Canadian victims of Hezbollah rocket attacks have filed an unprecedented lawsuit against the Central Bank of Iran (“CBI”), Bank Saderat Iran of Teheran and Bank Saderat, PLC of London. The suit, Kaplan v. Central Bank of Iran, was filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. and seeks $1 billion in compensatory damages and an unspecified sum of punitive damages.
