Sderot Families Sue Egypt for Kassams

January 8, 2008, Jerusalem Post: Ten Sderot families are suing the Egyptian government for NIS 260 million in damages for family members who were killed or seriously wounded by Kassam rockets fired at the town from the Gaza Strip. The families, represented by attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, hold Egypt responsible for the casualties in a lawsuit filed Monday in Beersheba District Court.

Palestinians Ask U.S. To Intervene in Suits Over Terrorist Attacks

Sderot Residents Sue Israeli Defense Minister: Lawsuit Demands IDF Immediately Employ the Laser Guid

February 26, 2008: Seventy residents of Sderot and other towns bordering the Gaza Strip, will file an unprecedented lawsuit against the Israeli Defense Minister in the Jerusalem District Court today, Tuesday February 26, 2008. The plaintiffs are demanding that the IDF immediate utilize the "Nautilus" laser guided, anti-missile system as a defense against Palestinian rocket attacks; "Failing to station the system – forfeiting residents' lives".

Administration Won't Take Sides in Terrorism Case Against Palestinians

March 1, 2008, Washington Post: The Bush administration said yesterday it is concerned that lawsuits by victims of terrorism could harm the "financial and political viability" of the Palestinian Authority, and asserted its interest in continuing to monitor such lawsuits. But it told a federal judge it will not offer an opinion on whether he should nullify a $174 million judgment.

PA not immune from Israel justice system

March 16, 2008, Jerusalem Post: The Jerusalem District Court will now be able to hear 55 lawsuits filed by victims of terror against the Palestinian Authority, after the Foreign Ministry issued certificates in every case declaring that the PA did not enjoy judicial immunity.
