US Federal Court Awards Terror Victims $378 Million Against North Korea |

July 23, 2010: A United States federal court has handed down a historic decision finding the government of North Korea and its intelligence service, the Cabinet General Intelligence Bureau, liable for an infamous terrorist attack perpetrated in Israel in 1972. The U.S. District Court in San Juan, Puerto Rico has ordered the defendants to pay $378,000,000 in damages to two families.

Hezbollah Rocket Victims Sue Al-Jazeera TV |

July 14, 2010: On the fourth anniversary of start of the Lebanese-Israeli War, we have filed an unprecedented lawsuit against the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television network on behalf of 91 American, Israeli and Canadian victims of Hezbollah rocket attacks. The suit filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan, seeks $1.2 billion in compensatory damages plus punitive damages. |

Shurat HaDin Acts to Expel Hamas Leaders from Jerusalem |

July 1, 2010: In 2006, the Israeli Ministry of the Interior ordered four senior Hamas leaders who had been living in Jerusalem to be expelled from the country. The four members of the Islamic terrorist organization, had been elected as Hamas representatives to the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) that January. Israel gave them 30 days to either resign from the PLC or be deported. Predictably, the terrorists, Mohamed Abu Tir, Ahmed Attoun, Mohammed Totah and Khaled Abu Arafeh, scampered off to petition Israel's High Court to appeal the deportation orders. They claimed they had been born in Jerusalem and despite their leadership positions in Hamas, they could not be deported as Israeli law was not controlling in occupied East Jerusalem.

Court Awards Iranian Owned Property to Terror Victims |

June 17, 2010: Chalk up another unprecedented legal victory by Shurat HaDin Israel Law Center for victims of terror. This time the Second Circuit Court of Appeals has handed down an important decision to the family of an American citizen who was murdered in a 1996 Hamas suicide bombing aboard the No. 18 Jerusalem bus.

Organizers of Gaza Flotilla Have Violated US Neutrality Act |

June 7, 2010: Shurat HaDin sent a letter to the American Attorney General, Eric Holder, asking him to investigate whether the U.S. Neutrality Act (18 USC § 960) was violated by the anti-Israel organizations that funded the Gaza flotilla. The letter also asks for an investigation of whether the Free Gaza Movement (FGM) which organized the illegal boat expedition was involved in money laundering and efforts to defraud the Internal Revenue Service. Nine Turkish terrorists aboard the boats were killed and numerous Israeli soldiers were seriously injured when efforts by the ships to run the Israeli imposed blockade on the Gaza Strip turned violent. |
