Canceling Columbia's Haman Banquet

Canceling Columbia's Haman Banquet

september 26, 2011: When we recently learned that the Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was attending the UN's opening activities in New York, had been invited to dinner by a group of Columbia University students we knew we had to act. . We recalled that in 2007, Columbia had also shamefully invited the Iranian leader to speak, providing him with a platform to present his perverted ideas to an international audience while clothed in the vestments of the University's legitimacy. We were determined not to allow it to happen again.

Contentions Universities Receive Legal Warning About Anti-Semitism on Campuses

Commentary, September 8, 2011:
The pro-Israel legal center Shurat HaDin (which I previously profiled here) is taking a different and much blunter approach. If U.S. public universities don’t deal with anti-Semitism on campus, they’re going to have to deal with it in court:

Shurat HaDin Warns Government Against Increasing Egyptian Troops in Sinai

September 1, 2011: This week Shurat HaDin has sent a letter to the Israeli Attorney General warning him that neither Defense Minister Ehud Barak nor the Cabinet must not be allowed to unilaterally permit additional Egyptian troops to enter the Sinai and take up positions near the Israeli border.
Under the Camp David Accords signed between former Prime Minister Menachem Begin and former President Anwar Sadat, Egypt is only permitted to have limited forces armed with light weapons along with multinational UN observers in the border area. Israel insisted upon this limited number of Egyptian troops in order to prevent another October 1973 style surprise attack

How Perry Fought the Flotilla

How Perry Fought the Flotilla

Tablet Magazine, Aug 24, 2011:
Commentary reports that Shurat HaDin—the Israeli legal center whose “pro-Israel lawfare” played an essential role in disabling the ten ships that made up the presumptive flotilla—received Perry’s aid in drawing the U.S. government’s attention to the fact that American citizens aboard the flotilla (like Alice Walker) were potentially planning to violate the Neutrality Act.
As part of their lobbying of Attorney General Eric Holder, at its request Rick Perry sent the nation’s top cop a letter backing the group.
Apparently Perry had met its directors on a trip to Israel. “I love what you do. It’s amazing what you do,” he had told them, one of them said. “If you ever need help combating Israel’s enemies, I’m here to assist.”

Nitsana Darshan-Leitner's OpEd in the Weekend Jerusalem Post

July 15, 2011, The Jerusalem Post
Tragically, rather than engaging in authentic efforts to win freedom for an oppressed people, or acting to safeguard the liberties of an endangered minority, these Americans, wittingly or unwittingly, are lending material support and providing resources to Hamas and its goal of eradicating the Jewish state. If imperiling the security of innocent Israelis weren't enough, Hamas’s “useful Americans” are also violating numerous federal laws and recklessly endangering their own lives.
